Launching Phase 2: A Net Zero Opportunity for 60 Businesses
We are excited to announce the official launch of Phase 2 of the Net Zero Horizons Project — an ambitious, fully funded programme designed to support 60 businesses across North Wales in starting or accelerating their journey toward net zero!
Led by One Earth Education and funded by Cadwyn Clwyd, through the UK Government’s Shared Prosperity Fund, this next phase builds on the success of the 2024 pilot project, significantly expanding our reach and impact across the region.
Running from July to December 2025, this transformative project provides participating businesses with a comprehensive package of expert consultancy, bespoke sustainability training, renewable energy guidance, and access to funding opportunities — all free of charge.
Building on Success: From Colomendy to a Regional Programme
The success of the 2024 pilot project in Denbigh laid the foundation for Phase 2. Businesses on the Colomendy Industrial Estate benefited from expert sustainability support, carbon footprint assessments, and access to renewable energy strategies. As a result, this revealed both the demand and the potential for a wider impact.
This year, One Earth Education is scaling the initiative across three key industrial estates:
Colomendy Industrial Estate, Denbigh
Ruthin Industrial Estate
St Asaph Business Park
Each location has been strategically chosen for its mix of business activity, community impact, and appetite for sustainability transformation. Together, these sites form the core of an emerging Decarbonisation Hub in North Wales.
Message from Our Founder
“After the success of last year’s pilot, we’re proud to be working with Cadwyn Clwyd again to expand this offer to 60 businesses across North Wales. Being from Denbigh myself, I’m deeply invested in supporting our local business community to adapt and thrive in a net-zero future. This project gives businesses the tools, funding support, and confidence to take action now – before sustainability becomes a regulatory burden.”
— Tom Powell, Founder & CEO, One Earth Education.
What the Project Offers
Net Zero Horizons Phase 2 offers a comprehensive support package to help businesses reduce emissions, improve energy efficiency, and build long-term resilience. Participating businesses will receive:
Carbon Footprint Assessments: Tailored emissions assessments will help businesses understand their current carbon footprint, identify priority areas for improvement, and benchmark progress toward net-zero goals.
Funding Support: The project provides guidance on accessing funding for renewable energy installations. Experts will work with businesses to explore and implement practical energy solutions, from solar panels and energy storage to insulation and process optimisation.
Bespoke Sustainability Training: Staff training is a key component of Phase 2. Businesses will receive customised education packages, equipping teams with the skills and mindset to lead on sustainable change within their organisations.
One-to-One Sustainability Consultancy: Businesses will have direct access to consultants with experience in carbon management, environmental auditing, and business transformation. Support will be specific to the nature, size, and needs of each company.
Collaborative Networking Opportunities: The project fosters a collaborative approach by establishing a Decarbonisation Hub – a space for peer learning, knowledge sharing, and potential partnerships. Participants will join a growing community of forward-thinking businesses across North Wales.
Who Can Apply?
The programme is open to a wide range of sectors and business sizes. Whether you're a small enterprise, a growing manufacturer, or a large local employer, this project is your chance to lead on sustainability, futureproof your operations, and become part of a collaborative, forward-thinking business community in North Wales.
In addition to the local impact, Net Zero Horizons serves as a scalable model of sustainability leadership, demonstrating how place-based action and targeted support can drive meaningful change across regions and sectors. With our proven track record and adaptable support model, One Earth Education is ready to share its expertise with organisations across Wales!
Businesses located on the following industrial estates are eligible to join:
Colomendy Industrial Estate (Denbigh)

Why Your Business Should Get Involved
Cost Savings: Energy-efficient technologies and renewable solutions can reduce operating costs and improve your bottom line, especially in today’s volatile energy market.
Competitive Advantage: More customers, clients, and investors are demanding sustainable practices. Businesses that act now will stand out and stay ahead of regulatory and market changes.
Reputation & Brand Value: Demonstrating environmental responsibility strengthens brand image and builds trust with both customers and employees.
Access to Funding: Through the project’s support network, businesses can discover and apply for clean energy grants and decarbonisation funding that would otherwise be difficult to access.
Act Now: We’re Onboarding in August!
We are actively onboarding businesses through August 2025, with limited spaces available for up to 60 businesses. This is a time-sensitive opportunity to secure free expert support and begin a structured pathway toward net zero.
